Sheet Metal Box with Glossy RAL7035 Powder Coating
Stamping + Bending + Assembly + Powder Coating

Qingdao Dmetal manufactured a custom 0.06 THK cold rolled steel enclosure for electronic equipment. The project combined stamping, bending, assembly and glossy RAL7035 powder coating using AkzoNobel powder, with 100% final inspection focused on hole positioning and cosmetic surface quality.

The Challenge
Hole Position Accuracy
The enclosure contains multiple holes, slots and mounting features. Although these features are produced during blanking, their final relative positions can be influenced by the following bending and assembly operations. Accurate positioning was important because these features need to match the customer's downstream installation and assembly requirements.
Glossy RAL7035 Surface Quality
The customer specified a glossy RAL7035 powder-coated finish. Glossy surfaces make particles, contamination and other cosmetic imperfections easier to see, so appearance control was an important part of the project.
Forming & Assembly Consistency
The enclosure includes multiple formed features. Variation during bending could influence the final enclosure geometry, hole relationships and assembly fit.
Our Solution
Controlled Sheet Metal Fabrication
Blanking and bending were controlled with attention to the relationship between holes, slots and formed features. Critical positions were checked after forming rather than relying only on the flat blank.
Forming & Assembly Control
The enclosure geometry and fitting condition were checked after bending and assembly to help maintain stable finished-part geometry.
AkzoNobel RAL7035 Powder Coating
AkzoNobel powder was used for the required glossy RAL7035 surface. The coating process focused on cleanliness, coating consistency and careful handling of finished surfaces.
100% Final Inspection
Because the project combined dimensional and cosmetic requirements, finished parts received 100% final inspection before shipment.
Key Results
- Stable hole positioning — critical holes, slots and mounting features maintained stable relative positions through forming and assembly.
- Consistent glossy RAL7035 finish — the finished enclosure achieved the required glossy RAL7035 appearance using AkzoNobel powder.
- Clean cosmetic surface — surface preparation, coating-process control and final inspection helped achieve a clean surface without visible particles.
- Controlled final quality — 100% final inspection was applied before shipment for critical dimensional and cosmetic requirements.
